Upcoming Cattlemen’s Ball June 6-7, 2025

‘Calf-for-a-Cure’ part of the 2025 Cattlemen’s Ball

The 2025 Cattlemen’s Ball has options to support the cause for those who cannot attend the event, including ‘Calf-for-a-Cure.’
Rick and Amy Gerlach are overseeing the Calf for a Cure project, which is a fundraising initiative for the 2025 Cattlemen’s Ball set to be held near Blue Springs, NE on June 6-7. Cattle from the program will be placed on feed at a local feedlot and the full value of the finished animals will be added to the 2025 Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska fundraising totals.
“Each calf purchased by a donation to the Calf-for-a-Cure project will be added to a pen at a local feed yard and all the calves will be fed there until they’re ready to go to market in late spring. All the proceeds from the sale of these calves will be donated back to the program,” Amy said. “When you donate to the Calf-for-a-Cure project, you are not only funding researchers in their fight to cure cancer, but you are also supporting health and wellness programs right here in our community.”
In addition to the ‘Calf-for-a-Cure’ project, the 2025 Cattlemen’s Ball plans to have other ways to give towards the cause for those who are not able to be in person.
“The event has many opportunities for everyone to help fund cancer research from now through the Cattlemen’s Ball weekend. Currently, we are offering sponsorship and cash donor options. After December 1st, tickets for the event will be available for purchase and, in January 2025, Promise Petals will be available for purchase in honor or memory of a loved one. We will also be accepting auction items that will be made available for online bidding prior to, and live auction items that will be auctioned during the event,” said Kelly Lenners, Chairman of the 2025 Cattlemen’s Ball Financial Committee. Closer to the event, there will also be a golf outing, 5K run, raffle, and silent auction.
